73. Anniversary of the murder of Jewish children

The Jan Kraski Society invited Kielce residents to pray together on the 73rd anniversary of the murder committed by the Germans on 45 Jewish children. The prayer took place at the grave of the victims in the Jewish cemetery in the Kielce (the district of Pakosz).

More than 22,000 Jews from the ghetto of Kielce were murdered in August 1942 in the death camp in Treblinka. About two thousand Jews who were left alive were confined in four labor camps. On May 23, 1943, the Germans shot 45 Jewish children, considering them to be unable to work. The youngest was 15 months old, the oldest 13 years old.
