A meeting with Zofia Winawer and seweryn Blumsztajn and a screening of the film entitled ‘Ala z elementarza’

The guests of the evening talked about an unusual woman – Dr. Alina Margolis- Edelman, the wife of Marek Edelman, a participant of the Warsaw Ghetto Uprising and the Warsaw Uprising as well as the prototype of Ala, the main character of the Famous Falski’s handbook for children. After the war Dr. Alina Margolis- Edelman finished medicine and participated in many rescue operations in Vietnam, El Salvador, Chad, and many other. She founded the foundation ‘Dajmy Siłę Dzieciom’ [Let’s Give Children Strength] (previously known as Nobody’s Children Foundation). Since it was established it has cooperated Zofia Winawer, who together with her husband, Seweryn Blumsztajn met Dr. Alina Margolis-Edelman in Paris after the introduction of martial law in Poland. From there, Dr. Alina organized convoys for drugs in cooperation with the Polish Solidarity Committee in Paris. The participants of the meeting also watched a film by Edyta Wróblewska about Alina Margolis-Edelman.
