A visit of the president of Poland, Andrzej Duda

On July 4, 2016, on the 70th anniversary of the Kielce pogrom, the President of the Republic of Poland Andrzej Duda visited the exhibition “Remember the Past Days” organized at the seat of the Jan Karski Society at Planty 7 in Kielce. The President was accompanied by Piotr Gliński, Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Culture and National Heritage. The exhibition was presented by Bogdan Białek, president of the. Jan Karski Society, the author and curator of the exhibition. After seeing the exhibition the guest wrote in the commemorative book the following words:
“On the 70th anniversary of the Kielce Pogrom, with regret, respect and reverence, I bow my head over the common grave and the memory of the victims – murdered Polish citizens of Jewish nationality. I thank all those who nurture this memory for the history and education of future generations “.
