Ideas of the 21st Century: Paweł Przeciszewski about the crisis on the Orthodox church

We invited Paweł Przecieszewski, historian, expert on the history and spirituality of the Orthodox Church, who spoke about the causes and significance of the conflict inside the orthodox Church which is associated with granting autocephaly to the Orthodox Church in Ukraine by Patriarch of Constantinople.  Paweł Przecieszewski indicated that the conflict became open during the Pan-Orthodox Council and revealed differences between Russian Orthodox Church, very formal, rigid, based on referring to the canons and dependent on the government and the Church related to Constantinople, characterized by more lively ministry and community life. The presentation of the situation after granting autocephaly to the Orthodox Church in Ukraine ended with an understatement – Paweł Przecieszewski refrained from taking about further development of the situation.
