The Society invited the inhabitants of Kielce to participate in the nationwide social campaign “Podaruj poem” (Give someone a poem), initiated by the Zbigniew Herbert Foundation. The campaign is connected with the letters-poems by Zbigniew Herbert, which the poet wrote to friends and people as well as artists important to him. The participation in the event consisted in rewriting the selected poem on the stationery card prepared by the organizers and presenting it to a specific person. The participants could also present a poem in the form of a “digital diptych” – photos of a handwritten poem and an audio file with a recorded reading of the poem. The action reminded everyone that “poetry is a gift” and encouraged them to look at the poem as a gift that can be given to someone. The organizers’ intention was to build and strengthen a network of interpersonal (intergenerational) relationships based on the word which is meaningful and providing support. At the seat of the Special Society, one could get a special stationery card free of charge. At a specially prepared stand, it was also possible to rewrite a poem from the volumes of Herbert’s poetry
