A series of meetings entitled ‘Understanding Pope Francis’ started with a lecture by Fr. Alfred Wierzbicki ‘The Prophet of God’s Tenderness’. Wierzbicki spoke about a new way in which the Pope preaches the Good News. We also learned about a specific nature of the South American Church without which it is not possible to understand the Pope’s approach to the role of the Church in the world. The discussion following the lecture focused mainly on the Polish reception of the current teaching of the Pope.
